Rivers Cocker and Derwent at Cockermouth, Cricket Ground, Trout Hotel Car Park, Hatters Croft

Rising river levels are expected to cause flooding today.  Flooding is expected on 14 December 2025 over night, peaking in the early hours of the morning.  Locations most affected will be the rivers Cocker and Derwent at Cockermouth, Cricket Ground, Trout Hotel and Market Street Car Parks, Hatters Croft. Further rainfall is expected over night.  We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and closely monitoring the situation.  Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water .  This message will be updated by 10:00AM on 15 December 2025 or as the situation changes.
