Lower River Eden

Flooding continues to be possible to low lying land and roads on 15 December 2025. The heavy rain on Sunday (14/12/2025) and in the early hours of Monday (15/12/2025) has caused river levels to rise however, we do not expect Flood Warnings to be issued in this area. Locations most affected will be low lying land and roads near river Eden and its tributaries from its confluence with the River Irthing through Crosby-on-Eden and Carlisle to the Solway Firth at Rockcliffe. We are closely monitoring the situation. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses.
