Lower River Soar in Leicestershire

Forecast rising river levels overnight may lead to flooding.  Flooding is possible on 12 March 2026 tonight.  Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads including Slash Lane at Sileby and the Mountsorrel to Sileby road. Heavy rainfall is forecast overnight into the early hours of tomorrow morning (13/03/2026). River levels at Pillings Lock Gauge will begin rising from 18:00.  We are closely monitoring the situation .  Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water .  This message will be updated by 10:00AM on 13 March 2026 or as the situation changes.
