High river levels today may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible on Friday 30 January 2026 and overnight into Saturday 31 January. River levels are slowly dropping and will continue to do so overnight into Saturday 31 January.
Locations most affected will be low lying land and roads near the river around Abridge and Loughton.
We are closely monitoring the situation as some further rain is possible over the weekend. This is not expected to significantly impact river levels.
Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water.
This message will be updated by 11:00 on 31 January 2026 or as the situation changes.
