High river levels on Thursday may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible on 29 January 2026 , as a lot of rain fell in Storm Chandra (26mm). Flooding is affecting low lying land, roads and footpaths close to the river. Flooding of Golf Links Road and Moreton Common Road will continue today 29/01/2026. Ditches around Fort Holiday Park will struggle to drain while river levels are high. From 08:30 29/01/2026, gardens at Nicholas Close, Brading may flood while the river is tide locked. Further rain is forecast on Friday 30/01/2026. River levels will continue to reduce in Alverstone and Sandown throughout today. At Brading, it is possible further garden flooding may occur during each high tide for the next couple of days. We are checking rivers for blockages and operating Bembridge sluices Consider activating any flood protection products you may have . Including in Alverstone. This message will be updated by 12:00PM on 30 January 2026 or as the situation changes.
