Plymouth Sound, Wembury Bay and tidal estuaries


High tides, strong winds and large waves are expected to cause flooding tomorrow morning.  Flooding is expected over the morning high tide on Saturday 6th December.  Spray and wave overtopping of quaysides, harbours and low lying areas is expected to flood properties. Areas at risk include Wembury, Noss Mayo and Newton Ferrers. High tide at Plymouth on Saturday morning is at 06:12, times of high water will vary along the coast. The forecast total high tide level is 2.91mAOD. Expect tide levels along the coast to be around 0.4m above tide table level. Strong force 7 westerly winds and offshore wave heights of over 4.0m are forecast. Conditions should ease slightly for Saturday evening's high tide, however flood alerts may remain in force.  We are closely monitoring the situation .  Avoid coastal roads, footpaths and carparks, which may be flooded and activate any flood protection products you may have.  This message will be updated by 2:00PM on 06 December 2025 or as the situation changes.
