Forecast high river levels today may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible from overnight on 14 December 2025 until the morning of Tuesday 16 December 2025.
Land around the River Holme and its tributaries including Meltham, Newhill and the Ribble. Locations most affected will be low lying land and roads near rivers. We are expecting a heavier burst of rain between midday and 2pm which is likely to generate surface water flooding. From 6pm we will see more persistent rain which will continue until the early hours of Tuesday morning and this will likely impact rivers.
We are closely monitoring the situation .
Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses .
